CLIMATE CONTROL FOR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS
Commercial buildings come in many forms, from office space to hotels and restaurants, all of which need varying demands for energy and air control.
These environments require a significant amount of energy and therefore it’s crucial for landlords and businesses to be able to save energy where possible.
IMPROVING AIR QUALITY
Office spaces are particularly notorious for high levels of energy wastage as well as air pollution – and with many users turning up the thermostat in the winter, air quality can become poor. Those using these buildings have less control over the environment in their offices than they do in their homes and can be negatively impacted by the air quality.
What’s more, the temperature and air quality in a restaurant can be make or break for a customer’s dining experience. Not only is the air quality of the building important for customer comfort, but also for food storage and employee comfort and performance.
Where IPT Technology Can help.
OPTIRAD
The Optirad air handling unit (AHU) provides a filtered fresh air supply which can be heated or cooled as required using a built in GeoCube heat pump to maintain a consistent air temperature regardless of the outside temperature (effective range ‐4 to 25).
By controlling the air temperature within a commercial building, performance and production does not decline as it would during the colder months or evenings. In addition, the unit will remove airborne particles and improve the internal air quality.
GEOCUBE
GeoCube heat pumps produce controlled, energy efficient heating and cooling. For every unit of electricity used to power the heat pump, it will generate up to four times the heat output meaning consistent and controlled temperatures. The addition of heat recovery combined with an air handling unit, will further enhance the overall efficiency of the system.
Whilst GeoCube requires a small supply of electricity to function, it will produce most of its heat from the ground. This will provide savings of between 30-70% on your energy bills, when replacing conventional electric, oil or LPG gas heating.
What’s more, it has a 4 to 5 year payback period due to the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI). The RHI scheme is now closed.
The main driver for businesses is now lowering running costs and the push to be carbon zero.
